Chapter Officers
Devon Sheehan

President
My best piece of advice would be to embrace all opportunities that come your way, and don't be hesitant to put yourself out there and get involved! The women of this chapter truly make an effort to see your potential and uplift you even further, but it all starts with your presence and participation! Kappa has given me some of the most fulfilling memories, relationships, and opportunities of my life, and none of them would've happened if I didn't take that first step and allow myself to engage in this sisterhood.

College can be scary, lonely, stressful, and daunting all at once. However, when you surround yourself with amazing people who continuously lift you up and celebrate your successes and grieve your losses, it can be a life changing and irreplaceable experience that you will cherish forever. Kappa is about being your most authentic self in a place where you will make lifelong friendships, find your future bridesmaids, and meet the type of people who will do anything for you no matter what. Remember that you are already so loved by each woman in this chapter and that you have a support system of 150+ strong, intelligent, and confident individuals constantly by your side ready to help you navigate the roller coaster that is college.

The new member process is one of my favorite experiences and is such an exciting time! During this process, I challenged myself to be authentic and vulnerable, and was met with so much love and support from everyone in return! Welcoming this process with an open mind, excitement, and confidence is an amazing way to truly get to know and connect with your sisters! Although it can be overwhelming, try to meet as many people as you can because we are all here for each other! My time in Kappa so far has been so special mostly because I feel like I can go to any sister and feel instant support! I know you soon will also feel this same love too! Get excited about all the amazing kappa memories and bonds you are going to create! :)

Hi everyone! The best advice I was given is that Kappa is what you make it. It is really easy to get overwhelmed with this process since it is all so new and happens so fast. Every single person in this chapter is excited to meet you and wants you to succeed. With that being said, attend events, go to study groups, raise your hand to help out with something, and text girls to meet up for coffee. Literally, just put yourself out there in every way possible. As silly as this sounds some of my best memories were spent tabling, in the storage unit, and washing cars. This sisterhood is so supportive and full of love, you just need to get out there!

Trust in yourself and remember that you belong here. I know this year has been quite the challenge and you've all had to sacrifice a lot: nevertheless, you are still just as much a part of this sorority. Being in Kappa has allowed me to meet so many incredible girls that I otherwise wouldn't have. Put yourself out there and get involved, you'll be glad you did!

One piece of advice I have is to take the initiative to meet your sisters in your pledge class and say hi to an unfamiliar face. Sometimes the best relationships form from a simple hello. These girls will grow to become your kappa experience and the people you call family so make the effort to get to know them and truly embrace this feeling because it is a once in a lifetime experience!

The best advice I can give is to remind yourself that you are here for a reason, this chapter saw something in you, take that with grace as I know each of you will. Have confidence in yourself and make the most of this entire experience. You get out what you put into this! I am so so excited to get to know each of you, you are all here for a reason and I see so much potential in you all to do big things within this chapter.

This is going to sound super cheesy but be yourself and embrace the process! You have something so unique and special to bring to Kappa so do not be afraid to explore that and make connections. Getting to know our sisters and bonding throughout this journey is so important in emerging into the full new member experience. Go out of your comfort zone. Put yourself out there, and I promise it will pay off. You are here for a reason and I cannot wait to see what this next semester has in store for you!!

I encourage you to take it all in and embrace every moment of this new experience- even if it may be a little bit awkward or uncomfortable at times:) I encourage you to remain authentic, excited, and eager to dive deeper into this sisterhood and get to know as many people as you can!

Panhellenic Representative
My advice is to start a conversation with every Kappa you find yourself sitting next to whether in chapter, in the same class, or at the same social gathering, because she will likely become one of your best friends. Don't hesitate to ask any girl on a sister date because you never know who you will deeply click with until you give it a chance. Kappa is full of incredible women who align with you like no other, just waiting to become your lifelong friend!

Getting involved in any way you can will be one of the best things you can do to feel connected in Kappa. Try new things, attend as many events/activities as possible, meet as many sisters as you can, and document everything! Take pictures and videos of those special moments so you can look back on them later. Also, don't be afraid to step up and use your talents for the chapter! I am so excited for you guys!

I am so incredibly happy to have all of you be a part of this chapter and I can't wait to get to know every single one of you. My biggest piece of advice for you is to always stay true to who you are. Remember that you are so loved in this chapter and that kappa is truly your home! Make an effort to reach out to other people in your pledge class, and make the most out of every moment with your sisters!! I am so great full for each and every one of you and I can't wait to see you all grow through this new member process.

House Chairman
One main piece of advice I have from my experience in Kappa is don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there! You never know what you might be capable of unless you try, and accomplishing something you're scared to do can lead to endless possibilities. It can show your hidden talents that you may now know as well as build new connections with those who you otherwise might not have interacted with. Kappa is full of nothing but supportive and empowering women who will always have your back and encourage you, so try something new because your sisters will be by your side to guide you! Get involved in all that you can, because your involvement can lead to learning new skills, lessons and experiences, and building lifelong friendships. If you ever need help your sisters will be there for you!
